You Are Invited…

Think of an invitation that you received in the mail…

Whether it be a wedding, anniversary, or birthday invitation, there is an eager anticipation to attend!

The joy in celebrating a new couple, honoring a couple who has grown in their love for each other, or happily commemorating another year of life, bring hope and promises of the goodness we can experience in our life.

What if you received an invitation that promises:

  • Joy  Psalm 118:15
  • Peace  2 John 1:3
  • Rest  Matthew 11:28-30
  • Reconciliation  2 Corinthians 5:19
  • Victory  1 Corinthians 15:57
  • Eternal life  John 3:15-16

Would you RSVP with a YES?

The Best Invitation

The Message translation of 2 Peter chapter 1 says:

3-4 Everything that goes into a life of pleasing God has been miraculously given to us by getting to know, personally and intimately, the One who invited us to God. The best invitation we ever received! We were also given absolutely terrific promises to pass on to you—your tickets to participation in the life of God after you turned your back on a world corrupted by lust.

A relationship with Christ is the best invitation we can receive. God, so graciously, has given us everything we need to navigate our walk on this side of glory. He lovingly invites us to himself. By His divine power, He lavishly gives us great and precious promises.

The promises are real and the invitation is open!

I ask again…What is your answer on that RSVP?

Our Response

Unlike the invitation to a wedding, anniversary, or birthday, we don’t have to think about what we are going to wear. We don’t have to show up looking like we have it all together! Nor do we need to worry about bringing the perfect gift.

Jesus simply wants us to come to Him with an open and willing heart. He wants us to sit in His presence, listen for His voice, and seek Him in all things. He wants time with us. We begin to learn His ways and His desires become our desires. Jesus promises that His yoke is easy and His burden light. Matthew 11:28-30

We can come with our brokenness, our fears, and our sin. Through His divine nature, He begins a new work in us. We can live with hope and an assurance of life with Him in heaven. 1 Peter 1:3-4

Answering with a YES to follow Jesus–accepting this invitation will completely transform us.

If you are unsure about this invitation or have questions, I would love to meet for coffee.

  1. It is so simple to let him carry our burdens and let him love us. It is our sin which holds us captive and broken. I encourage anyone to rsvp what have you to lose?

    Beautiful Rebecca!
